what is a linux operating system; basically Windows but not Windows. Better. Other OSes also include MacOS, Android (which is based on linux btw), *BSD and other Unix things (if you know bsd u probably know linux, this is here just for the sake of it)how is it better name one thing good about Windows other than it being easy (linux can be easy too, you just dont know anything about it)

ok. first decide what distro (distribution) you want, like well, arch if you can use it. endeavour is easier to install. ubuntu if you want to be cyberbullied. cachyos for best performance. theres so many. If not arch based, use kubuntu, its good.
next, when you're done that, follow these steps
have free space. it should probably be above 10gb and if u want to use it then give it more
make the partition smaller in windows partition manager or whatever, leave it empty
Get a usb stick
Download the iso of ur distro and dont get a virus
Use Rufus or something and put it in the thing
Open ur bootloader, search up the boot menu key for ur motherboard or laptop brand
boot from whatever isn't Windows or whatever you think is linux
open installer, if its arch u can do it manually or archinstall
set up partitions
set up users and password
don't forget to set up sudo
get KDE and NOT gnome and make sure it works
dont forget to make sure wifi thing like networkmanager is working properly
dont forget systemd-boot (not sorry artix users) or refind if u want that
